Operation Blessing Nigeria continues to respond to the need of the under
privileged in and around Nigeria as it blessed AIDS orphans on 17 December
2003 in Jos, Plateau State. Prior to Christmas, OB provided seven AIDS
orphans with scholarship grants and also organized a party for 42 of them.
This cost OB about $1,000.00. These are children who either dropped out
of school for lack of support or could not attend school though they have
been offered admission.
During the party, the children were so overwhelmed. Their joy was manifested
as they read some heart-touching poems and presented a drama sketch
showing God as their sufficiency. Justina, one of the beneficiaries
said, "Thank you CBN. You have helped us celebrate our Christmas.
I am happy that I will now continue with my schooling. Thank you CBN."
Mrs. Mavira and Anna, staff of Almannah Rescue Mission with whom CBN
is partnering, expressed their appreciation to CBN/Operation Blessing
for the love. Mrs. Mavira said, "We are grateful to you. Initially
we did not know what we were going to give these children at least to
help them have a form of Christmas celebration. But today through you
CBN, God in His infinite mercy has relieved us of our predicament. May
God reward you. We assure you that the seven children you have supported
will be in school come January 2004.
In the same vein, OB presented blankets to 40 orphans and medical supplies
worth $150.00 to help in the treatment of the children.
