Our top story this month
comes from Senegal where we have had a marvelous breakthrough with the
national station RTS. We have aired Christian programs in the past with
RTS, but these have been one-off specials. Through the grace of God, on
the 17th of February the first weekly Christian program aired in the Muslim
nation.
The TV series airing on Senegal national TV is French language Superbook
(Super Livre).
Already we are hearing of a great response to the show from both parents
and children. Our director in Dakar, Gabriel Sagna, is absolutely delighted
to see this come about. Gabriel has helped us campaign for a long time
to reach this goal and the work has certainly paid off.
He believes that this is just the first step in a good long-term relationship
with the station. He said that " hearts are softening " amongst
the directors, which is incredible if you consider the tight Muslim
control that grips the nation.
We are currently airing Les Responses on RTS Radio, and Gabriel has
a slot to preach as well. Now that we have our foot in the door, we
are praying and hoping that things can only get better in Senegal. We
are already presenting the new series of Le Club 700 to the station.
Until then we continue to praise God knowing that at 5 p.m. on Mondays
and Wednesdays the Gospel is going out on the National airwaves of Senegal
and touching the lives of thousands of people!
