Breaking the Silence
Staff Writer

In an attempt to break the conspiracy of the silence surrounding the AIDS pandemic, CBN produced this program to promote open dialogue.

Prior to the program airing across Africa, very little public or governmental acknowledgement was given to the reality or devastating power of illness. As a result, many suffered in silence, scared to seek treatment or help.

Breaking the Silence is a program that seeks to -

(a)Acknowledge the reality of AIDS in Africa

(b) Encourage the church and para-church organizations to become compassionate care givers to those affected and infected

(c) Bring hope to those infected who may either be dying or are weighted down by shame and guilt.

This program features powerful true-life stories, interviews and ministry with guest co-host TD Jakes.
