Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior? Do you want
to? The Bible says that if you ask Jesus to save you,
He will (Romans 10:13). Jesus came into the world to
give us a new, eternal life that will never end (John
3:16). And He came to give us a good life here on earth
(John 10:10). Even though we will still have problems
sometimes, He will always be with us and meet out needs.
What Scripture Says
Read these Bible verses. They tell of God's plan for
you to be saved. If a friend or your brother, sister
or parents are with you, you can read them together.
"For God loved the world so much that he gave
his only Son so that anyone who believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16)
"Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord
will be saved."
(Romans 3:16)
"If we say that we have no sin, we are only
fooling ourselves, and refusing to accept the truth.
But if we confess our sins to him, he can be depended
on to forgive us and cleanse us fromevery wrong."
(1 John 1:8,9)
"...But to all who received him, he gave the
right to become children of God. All they needed
to do was to trust him to save them." (John
1:12)
"Look! I have been standing at the door and
I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling
him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship
with him and he with me." (Revelation 3:20)
If you are not sure what the verses mean, ask someone
who is already a Christian to help you understand. Your
Sunday school teacher or church pastor will be glad
to help.
As You Pray
You may pray in your own words and ask Jesus to forgive
you of your sin and come into your heart. Thank Jesus
for answering your prayer.
Read the verses again. Can you see that God's Word says
that you are saved? You have done what God said to do
to be saved. Let the Holy Spirit make it real to you.
What Next?
Be obedient to God's Word. Read the Bible every day.
Start with the book of John in the New Testament. Then
read Acts, Matthew, Luke, Romans and other books in
the Bible. The church you go to will help you decide
what to read next.
When you commit a sin, confess it to the Lord immediately.
Ask His forgiveness. He knows your heart and promises
to forgive.
Memorize Bible verses that help you, such as those about
salvation.
Talk to God in prayer. Find a quiet time each day to
read your Bible and pray.
Meet with Christian friends who also wish to live for
Jesus.
Tell others about Jesus and what happened to you. You
might tell your family, Sunday school teacher, pastor,
friends, etc.
Attend church. Go to a church where there are other
Christians who love and help one another.
Our Prayer For You
We pray for you and know that you are safe in the Lord.
We thank God that He has forgiven your sin and that
you have received Jesus as Savior. We ask Jesus to fill
you with the Holy Spirit and love and joy and peace
forever.
